\n<\/strong>A nebula of memories, some more faded than others, frequencies of light and sound: a painting and a piece of music to symbolise a being, an entity\u2026
\nIn painting, the perception of the whole array of suspended pigments is instantaneous, whereas in music, the defined sequence of notes takes on its meaning over time.
\nFor this exhibition, I am attempting to subvert this logic, placing the intertwined and random listening to the musical compositions in the present moment, and the viewing of the paintings as one wanders through the space.<\/p>\n
\nTen works are on display. The paintings are positioned on easels, like a gallery of portraits, arranged symmetrically to form a corridor within the space.
\nEach painting was created whilst listening to its own piece of music. During the exhibition, the pieces of music are played simultaneously, each above its corresponding painting. (See attached plan).

\n<\/strong>In 2000, I exhibited the first instalment \u2013 PSYCHOLOGIC PAINTING AND URBAN MUSIC QUADRIPHONIA \u2013 Les 4 sages \u2013 inside a Romanesque chapel during Heritage Days, in a village in the Hautes-Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es.
\n\u2018What struck me during this first experience was the reaction of the majority of the audience \u2013 a relatively older crowd, usually reserved when it comes to modern art \u2013 as they came to understand the concept, and then their shift towards scrutinising, with keen interest, the details of each painting amidst this cacophony.<\/em>\u2019<\/p>\n
