The paintings are positioned on easels, like a gallery of portraits, arranged symmetrically to form a corridor within the space.<br \/>\nEach painting was created whilst listening to its own piece of music. During the exhibition, the pieces of music are played simultaneously, each above its corresponding painting. (See attached plan).<br \/>\n10 works are on display. (See attached plan).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Collaboration<\/strong><br \/>\nMusic: KOLLKOZ<br \/>\nSound engineer: MAC TELLIAM<\/p>\n<p><strong>Exhibition<br \/>\n<\/strong>In 2000, I exhibited the first instalment \u2013 PSYCHOLOGIC PAINTING AND URBAN MUSIC QUADRIPHONIA \u2013 Les 4 sages \u2013 inside a Romanesque chapel during Heritage Days, in a village in the Hautes-Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es.<br \/>\n\u2018<em>What struck me during this first experience was the reaction of the majority of the audience \u2013 a relatively older crowd, usually reserved when it comes to modern art \u2013 as they came to understand the concept, and then their shift towards scrutinising, with keen interest, the details of each painting amidst this cacophony.<\/em>\u2019<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DECAPHONIA \u00a9Gilles NICOLLE &#8220;Portrait gallery&#8221;
